Founded and directed by award-winning journalist Taghreed Saadeh, who brings over 20 years of experience in international and Arab media, Zaytoun News serves as a bridge between Arab communities in the diaspora and the larger Canadian society. With its headquarters in Edmonton, Alberta, the platform offers bilingual content (Arabic and English) to reach a diverse and growing readership.

Code of Ethics
Zaytoun News is committed to the highest standards of professional journalism. As a platform focused on Arab affairs in Canada and the Arab world, we pledge to adhere to the following ethical principles:

Integrity and Independence
We uphold journalistic values of truthfulness, fairness, independence, and accountability. Editorial decisions are guided solely by professional standards, never compromised by political, ideological, or commercial interests.

Accuracy and Verification
We are committed to reporting accurate, well-sourced, and verifiable information. Our journalists strive to investigate every story thoroughly, verify facts from multiple credible sources, and present information in its proper context.

Respect for Human Dignity
We treat all individuals—especially victims of war, violence, or discrimination—with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. We avoid sensationalism and protect personal privacy unless outweighed by public interest.

Impartiality and Balance
Zaytoun News presents diverse voices and viewpoints without bias, prejudice, or distortion. We aim to reflect the complexity of Arab-Canadian and Arab regional realities with depth and fairness.

Transparency and Accountability
We clearly distinguish news from opinion and analysis. When errors occur, we acknowledge and correct them promptly and transparently.

Respect for Diversity
We recognize and embrace the plurality of cultures, faiths, languages, and traditions within Arab and Canadian societies. Our platform promotes inclusion and aims to dismantle stereotypes and racism.

Protection of Sources
We respect the confidentiality and safety of our sources, especially in cases that could risk their freedom or security, while adhering to ethical and legal standards of journalism.

No Incitement or Hate Speech
We reject all forms of hate speech, incitement to violence, racism, and sectarianism. Our platform fosters informed, respectful dialogue even on contentious issues.

Constructive Journalism
We strive to not only highlight challenges but also showcase achievements, initiatives, and success stories in Arab communities in Canada and abroad, contributing to a better-informed and hopeful public discourse.

Solidarity and Press Freedom
We stand in solidarity with journalists facing threats, harassment, or censorship and support efforts to protect freedom of the press. Zaytoun News collaborates with Arab, Canadian, and international media associations in the defense of independent journalism.
