A high-profile delegation from the ministerial committee formed during the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit on Gaza has postponed its planned visit to Ramallah after Israel denied their access into the occupied West Bank.
According to a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, members of the committee arrived in Amman on Saturday evening for a coordination meeting ahead of their scheduled visit to the Palestinian city. However, the trip was delayed due to Israeli obstruction.
The delegation includes Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.
In a joint statement, the delegation condemned Israel’s decision to block the visit, calling it a blatant violation of its obligations as an occupying power. The ministers said the move reflects the Israeli government’s arrogance, disregard for international law, and ongoing illegal actions aimed at isolating the Palestinian people and leadership.
The statement also reaffirmed the delegation’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and stressed that such Israeli actions undermine prospects for a just and comprehensive peace.
