The Arab League Council is set to hold an extraordinary session at the level of permanent representatives next Sunday to address the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people.
Palestine’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Mohannad Aklouk, told WAFA that the upcoming meeting, requested by the State of Palestine, follows the resolution of the joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh last month. The session aims to form a strong and unified Arab stance to exert pressure for an end to Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
This comes in light of the ongoing Israeli genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including a surge in horrific massacres targeting civilians, the acts of forced displacement and starvation, particularly in northern Gaza, threats by Israeli officials to forcibly displace Gaza’s residents and the catastrophic conditions imposed by the occupation on the Strip.
