Where does Hamas get the audacity to speak on behalf of the Palestinian people after everything that happened in Gaza, and after what they have done to the Palestinian cause, bringing it so much human and national disaster? How can those who caused, directly or indirectly, the displacement of people, deprived them of life, and invited the machinery of Israeli killing, speak today about nationalism and legitimacy? By what logic and what ethics?
What happened in Gaza was not just a war; it was a systematic destruction of Palestinian society, a blatant exploitation of blood, and political blackmail under the slogans “ceasefire” and “stop the killing,” while Palestinian lives were used as bargaining chips. I cannot understand how those responsible for all this damage continue to speak in forums like Al Jazeera as if nothing happened, as if hundreds of thousands of victims and displaced people are just trivial details.
Even more concerning is the blatant manipulation of concepts. The demand for disarmament is presented as an Israeli requirement, while in reality, it is a purely Palestinian national demand, based on the interest and life of the people and their right to manage their affairs away from militias and rule by force, as Hamas has done under the banner of “resistance.” This is a legitimate local demand, unrelated to external dictates, but grounded in a deep understanding of how power balances are managed and how real resilience is achieved—not through slogans.
How can the old lie be recycled, claiming that “Gaza belongs to its people” and “Palestinians govern themselves,” while in reality it was the Palestinian people themselves who resisted displacement, not Hamas, which for two full years bargained with Palestinian blood, rejected a ceasefire, and blackmailed the world with the bodies of children in an attempt to achieve a political gain solely with the occupation? Even U.S. President Donald Trump described their negotiations as selfish, as they sought organizational gains rather than popular Palestinian interests.
By what logic and commitment to Palestine can one accept what Hamas has done and continues to do? They have crossed the line from political error into national betrayal. Weapons that are not used to protect people but to blackmail them, that do not safeguard life but trade it, are catastrophic weapons with no national legitimacy, regardless of the slogans raised.
Legitimacy does not come from force, nor from imposing facts on the ground, nor from ceasefires used to control Gaza under the banner of “resistance.” The Palestinian people, the Arab League, the Islamic world, and even Europe and the United States, reject Hamas’ continued rule. Time has changed, and the disaster has revealed everything.
Also, what some leftist or other groups do, supporting Hamas and receiving funds from known sources to promote positions that are neither logical nor national, does not give them the right to speak on behalf of the people. This money is used to block the national project and deepen the gap between the people and the Authority through misleading media narratives, disconnected from reality.
I therefore call on the Palestinian Authority to open a serious and transparent investigation into the accounts of all individuals claiming patriotism and speaking for the cause, while their balances reach millions of dollars under the pretext of “support” and “struggle.” I call for an investigation into the sources of these funds, their political and media roles, and their relationship to the Brotherhood-linked project that provides them cover. They should be held accountable, as any country in the world would consider receiving foreign money in this way a major betrayal.
I also call on the Palestinian people, with awareness and responsibility, not to be swayed by empty slogans, to verify every statement before taking a position, and not to repeat accusations against the Authority without checking, because this manufactured division has been created by systematic media manipulation, not real positions.
If people knew the scale of the funds received by Hamas-supporting individuals, in the millions, their perception would change dramatically. These files will be opened, and investigating them will not be difficult. It is audacious for them to accuse Fatah and the Palestinian Authority of corruption, while they themselves are the first to be questioned about their balances, connections, and funding sources.
The time has come to correct the situation, expose what is hidden, and put an end to this manipulation of the Palestinian cause, which has turned into a convenient tool for a few, used in the name of honor and nationalism, while in reality it is driven by money, blackmail, and blood.
