The Presidency affirmed that targeting journalists constitutes a blatant violation of international law and agreements that guarantee the protection of journalists and press freedom.

The statement stressed that the continued targeting of journalists and media institutions by the Israeli occupation demands urgent action from the international community, particularly the UN Security Council and the United Nations, to provide protection for journalists and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes.

The Presidency held the Israeli government fully responsible for this heinous crime and called on human rights organizations and relevant international bodies to intervene immediately to stop these systematic attacks against Palestinian journalists, the defenders of truth and the voice of the free Palestinian people.

from it sides, The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate said on Monday that the Israeli occupation army committed a new horrific massacre against the Palestinian press, adding to its criminal record.

In its statement, the Syndicate mourned the five journalists who were killed during a horrific massacre perpetrated by the occupation forces following a bombing that targeted the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, bringing the number of journalists and media workers killed in Israeli strikes to more than 244.

It said, “In a new crime added to the bloody record of the Israeli occupation forces, embodying their clear intent to target the free voice, the witnessing camera, and the champions of the word, the occupation army committed a horrific massacre against Palestinian media crews, claiming the lives of four fellow journalists who were killed while carrying out their professional duty in covering the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.”
